The Children's 100 Index®

The leading index of companies that offer goods and services to children

Providing the first and only performance benchmark against which all other investments for children are measured, the Children's 100 is an equally-weighted index of stocks of the top 100 publicly-traded companies of interest to children.

It's a representative indicator of stocks of interest to children that may be used as holdings in a children's-oriented portfolio or a performance benchmark for investment portfolios oriented around children's themes.

Major Features Of The Children's 100 Index

Companies included in the Index display the following characteristics:

  • Foremost, they are leaders in providing products and services of interest to children
  • They operate in the US and at least 50% of their shares are available to the public
  • They're traded in the United States
  • They have a market capitalization of at least US$ 500 million.

All companies in the Children's 100 are socially screened to exclude companies that receive significant portions of their revenues from products that may have undesirable influences on children, such as alcohol, tobacco, gambling and weapons (click here for a description of Children's 100 screening process). Each company is appropriate for inclusion in a mutual fund or ETF sold to or on behalf of children (529's, etc).

Components of the Children's 100 Index® are categorized and balanced by sector based upon the classification of the children's-related business portion of a company. The index manager re-balances the index each March, June, September and December and makes changes to index constituents in March.
